With just five games left and only win in seventeen, things don't look good for Newcastle United. "We have to start games from the first minute like we finish them in the 90th," was Shearer's response to yesterday's defeat at Spurs. The truth, as he must have already suspected, is that there isn't enough pace, passion or ability in this team to do much besides run around for a bit in blind panic. Or stroll if your name's Michael Owen.
If there's any hope left, it's with Hull and Boro not winning another game.

you're not really pinning your hopes on those two, are you?
then again, on whom/what else? I've got the weird feeling that we might do the unthinkable and beat Villa on the last day but by then it won't matter anymore.
I just want it to be over.
Hull's next two games are Liverpool at home and Villa away and their final game's against Man Utd. In between they've got Stoke at home and Bolton away. You never know...
Of course, all of this implies that we can actually win our three remaining home games.
and then there's the smoggies..
not saying it's impossible but knowing us and our uncanny ability to shoot ourselves in the foot... (unless it's Martins shooting, in that case it'd be the head.. or 3 metres above)
We're all doomed, Mr Mainwaring! Newcastle United - credit crunch football. Wise has gone, so things can't be that bad.
