"We've got a horrendous injury list and there are a fair amount of players we need to bring in but I want to make sure I'm in a position to do that. I've identified the players I want but whether we get them is another thing. I sit down and talk to them [Ashley and Derek Llambias, Newcastle's managing director] about my ideas. I want to bring my own players in and that's the thing I really need to sort out. If we don't get stronger it will get tight".

Got enough reasons now, Joe? There are only three men whose opinions count at Newcastle, and the manager isn't one of them. Why else did he think he was given the job?

At this point i'm kind of clinging to the hope that there are 3 worse teams in the EPL than us. And that is a very slim hope.
3 worse teams? Maybe in the history of the Premier League, though I doubt in the current one.

it's actually 12 but same diff...
The best thing about Kinnear is, no one else would have him. He's one of us out of necessity.
Anyway, think about it, we're doing no worse, and actually better, than Spurs with their manager who keeps slagging his own players off, and was too good to come to Newcastle.
Hopefully Ashley and his crew are playing a careful game. It's not in their interests that we get relegated.
