Allardyce Goes

I won't pretend I'm disappointed, even if it does make us look a joke (again). We all know how this story ends: with Freddie Shepherd gone, it's inconceivable that Allardyce has been given the boot without the next victim already being lined up - and if it's not Shearer now, then it never ever will be.

we need a proven manager, not Shearer, but who? Mourinho is probably off to Barca or Madrid; the bookies favour Redknapp. The soap opera on Tyne...

Another one bites the dust!Surprised Shearer has tried to distance himself from it..do you fancy Harry Redknapp?

Allardyce goes, and so does another £6 million in wages and severance payments. When will it ever stop.

Here's a long shot for the bookies - Keegan.

I can't stand Harry Redknapp as a person. As a manager, what's he ever won? A great escape with Portsmouth (when he got £30 million to spend in January, yeah). I'd have gone for Ramos back in the summer, but too late now.
Who else? Mark Hughes (should've appointed him instead of Souness) or John Collins - a Toon fan as a kid apparently, and he had the Hibees playing some decent stuff.

I'd be more than happy with Keegan, Peter. Just as long as no other ex-England managers start getting mentioned...

John Collins? I'd rather have his sister Joan, but not literally!

You don't know how glad I am that you qualified that last sentence, Peter ;)

You don’t know how long it took to make that decision. He has such nice hair!

Now stop it! Odds on the Keegan/Shearer approach have been reduced. So what say you now to the Dynamic Duo? For me personally, bring it on. Can you imagine the headlines? Not back page, but front page. Ashley take note.

Keegan and Shearer would be fantastic on paper - I'm not sure Keegan would fancy coming back again, though.
